first time at trader joe's

After hearing about Trader Joe's for years, I finally realized I had one about 10 minutes away from my house! So the other day when we needed groceries, I decided to give it a try.

I really liked the atmosphere, although it was a bit too crowded...maybe I shouldn't have gone on a Sunday afternoon? ;) I ended up spending about $90 and getting all of the following, in addition to two bundles of fresh flowers seen in my spring centerpiece post (here).

I was really pleased by the organic offerings and the prices of everything. Plus, I always like to try new things, so it was great to see brands that you don't typically see in traditional grocery stores! I am most excited to try the yellow curry sauce and artisan Vermont cheddar, and I was ecstatic to find a huge bag of flax seeds for like $3!

Do any of you ladies shop at Trader Joe's? What items are on your shopping list as must-haves??

  1. Not sure if it's everywhere, but our Trader Joe's are in places where the parking lot is a nightmare any time of day or day of the week so I have to be really dedicated if I make a trip there, haha. It looks like you got so many good things- I love being able to get produce for a bit cheaper!

  3. haha yeah TJs is always crowded! we don't do the bulk of our shopping here, but we do grab a few certain things that we always come back for, like pasta sauce or soup. yum. and flaxseeds for $3?! that's awesome.

  4. Loveee me some Trader Joe's! My favorite things are the worst things of course haha - their orange chicken is great for a busy weeknight and I could eat a bag of their chocolate covered pretzel slims in one sitting!
